Dr. Roger Jordan accepts new position
At the recent AOA Advocacy Conference held in Washington, DC Roger Jordan announced his resignation as the Chair of the Federal Advocacy Committee, where he served as Chair for 6 years. With this comes a new appointment for Dr. Jordan. He will now be the Vice Chair of Policy and along with Chair Dr. David Cockrell, will oversee all the Advocacy committee work for the AOA. Roger will continue to work tirelessly and will be an even greater voice on a national level advocating on behalf of the profession!
AOA Advocacy Conference
Recently, Dr. Lynda Jones, WOA President and WY PAC Chair, Dr. Dana Day, WOA Legislative Chair, Kari Cline, WOA Executive Director, and Ashley Wing, current student at Pacific School of Optometry and a WY native attended the AOA Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. We, along with Dr. Roger Jordan, spent the day on the hill with WY Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso and with WY Representative Cynthia Lummis to speak to them regarding several important legislative issues relating to the profession of optometry.
WOA in the Community
In February, the WOA had several member doctors participate in the WY High School Career Day in Casper. Dr.'s Dana Day, Teresa Back, Nate Edwards, Seth Jensen, and Christopher Loe participated. They presented 5 sessions, 50 minutes each to students about the profession of Optometry. Great job!!

Medication Donation Program update
The Wyoming Department of Health, Medication Donation Program continues to provide safety-net prescription services to low-income, uninsured residents throughout Wyoming. New resources for medication have resulted in more service provided as well as improved medication compliance rates in 2015. We are excited to see what 2016 brings!
2,944 patients served state-wide
Medication compliance rate up 39%(up from 62% in 2014 to 86% in 2015)
$2.7 million worth of medication provided
(up 54% from 2014)
$10 million of medication provided since 2008
Nearly 16,000 pounds of donations processed from 1,319 boxes
(up 24% from 2014)
